Thief

Thief was, and has, been the most important job to me. Many things I have done through thief.

First, Thief was the first job I took to 75 (originally it was leveled to fund my Ninja but fell in love with Thief instead).

Second, I used Thief complete most of my missions and quests that were important. From breaking all level caps to obtaining all 15 sets of Artifact Armor for my other jobs.

Third, It gave me vast amounts of Financial stability. With the help of my clothcrafter partner we were making tens of millions!

Finally I note that the Thief job gave me the stimulation I needed to continue playing. The requirement to stay constantly moving prevented many a-boring days (when I wasn't waiting around looking for group).

My Thief went through many changes through the years. I have always carried three sets of equipment for Thief (Evasion, TP Gain and Weaponskill). Although it handicapped me with limited inventory space it allowed me to do things that made most other Thiefs pale in comparison. I always cringe to this day looking at a thief that had all 3 aspects crammed into 1-1.5 gear sets, which is inefficient. Most of my gear selection happened through trial and error, as for me I was hitting higher numbers in weaponskill stacking on raw strength rather than dexterity in contrast to what you may have heard or seen in forums and word of mouth. It wasn't until I joined Fusion and finally was able to aquire Hecatomb pieces I was able to notice damage increase by replacing strength items with dexterity ones. (Rajas was a double bonus).

Right now I'm still working on obtaining more Homam gear for my TP set. My biggest problem still to this day is accuracy. Being Elvaan didn't help things and in order to maintain a decent hit/miss ratio I have to pop sushi instead of meat to effectively build TP. (When I get the full Homam set I will have both Accuracy and Haste build in one, allowing me to finally eat meat.)

Now that I have many jobs 75 I don't play Thief as much as I used to, but now it has become specialized as my main solo job, a tank for certain NMs (like Charybdis), and as the highest spike damage dealer in merit parties, small groups for 3-6 man events. I avoid using Thief in alliances, as the greater the number, the more difficult it is to effectively do my job (everyone zerging in all directions makes it nearly impossible to use sneak attack and trick attack effectively).

Here are the three sets of equipment I use today. Some slots are still in need for improvement (I want Hecatomb legs!) but for the most part are very amazing and is by no means comparable to the average Thief.
